A Custom Contracting Transformation for Brenda Lovette
When Brenda Lovette purchased her two-family home in 2015, she knew it had potential—but it also had knob and tube wiring, an outdated kitchen, and needed new windows and a roof … the list continued!
Over the years, she tackled one improvement at a time. But when she and her spouse were ready to start a family, they knew they needed more space. That’s when she reached out to Custom Contracting and met with Bill Farnsworth to discuss finishing the home’s large, unfinished attic.
“Bill helped us maximize the space,” said Brenda. “We had a great experience working with Bill and the team from Custom. It was collaborative and there was great communication throughout the project.”
With a baby due in the spring, timing was everything. The team got to work transforming the attic into a light-filled, functional suite—finishing the project just in time for the new arrival.
Form Meets Function
The result is a spacious new primary bedroom, a full bathroom, and even a cleverly tucked-away laundry area. A swing chair hanging from the ceiling has become a favorite feature—ideal for relaxing or rocking a baby.
The bathroom includes a soaking tub beneath a skylight and a stunning walk-in glass shower.
“Everyone compliments the shower tile in particular,” said Brenda. “The installer laid out every tile on the floor first to make sure the veining would flow and look perfect.”
While a laundry room wasn’t originally in the plan, Project Manager Sean Farnsworth problem-solved to fit in a stackable washer and dryer, a game-changer for busy new parents.
“We wake up every day and say how much we love our new bedroom and bath!”
This renovation is a perfect example of how thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship can transform underused space into a beloved and essential part of the home.
