Shoot for the Stars
This kitchen remodel transformed a cramped, galley-style layout into an open, inviting space with excellent flow. Our in-house kitchen designer guided the project and helped streamline decision-making, bringing the homeowner’s vision to life. A standout feature is the vibrant tile backsplash, inspired by a love of deep blues and Mexican tile. With a starry-sky appearance and sun and moon accents, the tile installation stretches from the countertops to beneath the microwave. Though it looks random, the layout is carefully designed—every 16 tiles include four accent pieces, creating a subtle, intentional rhythm. Hickory cabinets, chosen for their striking grain and range of light-to-dark tones, add warmth and texture.
"The Custom team transformed a galley-style kitchen that was really choppy, into an open room with great flow. My favorite part is the tile backsplash which was thoughtfully laid out to appear random. I love the deep blues and the interesting design – it came out even better than I envisioned!"
